About Dr. P.V. Rao

Before he wrote about the human mind, he spent a lifetime healing the human body.

For over four decades, Dr. Venkata Rao Potluru served as a Consultant Surgeon across Iran, Libya, and India. For fifteen of those years, he lived and worked in Kurdistan, Iran, through revolution, war, and peace, where every day brought him face to face with fear, suffering, hope, and the extraordinary resilience of ordinary people.

Years spent in operating theatres taught him something few classrooms ever could: that beyond every wound lies a human mind searching for peace.

Those experiences quietly became a lifelong inquiry.

Deeply influenced by the teachings of Jiddu Krishnamurti, Dr. Rao began exploring awareness, not as an idea to accept, but as something to discover through direct observation. His writings do not offer beliefs or conclusions. They invite readers to look, question, and understand for themselves.

His 17 books are reflections born from a lifetime of medicine, observation, silence, and inquiry. Together, they explore timeless questions:

Can the mind be free from fear?

Can we observe without the interference of thought?

Can compassion exist without the self standing in the way?

These books are not written to tell you what to think.

They are an invitation to see for yourself.

In the crowded corridors and dimly lit operating theatres of Sanandaj, bombs fell outside as scalpels worked inside, stitching hope into bodies torn by violence.
